Avoid the common pitfalls

Inadequate inputs equals inadequate outputs. If you don’t know your technology your engineering contractors certainly will not. Don’t expect them to fill in the gaps.

Getting ahead of yourself. Stick to the true and tested project sequence. Missing key steps to speed up the delivery process will bite you later.

Being memorised by a Lump Sum. Don’t get lured into Lump Sum EPC, D&C or LSTK type contracts for First of a Kind projects. You need to maintain control. Lump summing carries risk and carrying contract risk comes at a price and don’t be deluded the Project Owner invariably pays. The Contractor is in the business of making money from their services and therefore they certainly will not be out of pocket.
